Justine ‘Baby’ Washington had already made a few singles with some success when she signed with Sue Records in 1963. Her first single with the American Sue label quickly became her signature hit. She also recorded under the name Jeanette Washington, and as a member of vocal group The Jaynetts. Justine Washington is still performing and in 2008 was among the honorees in Community Works’ Ladies Singing the Blues music series.
