Joseph Daniel White was born in 1931 in New Orleans. Originally a member of Huey Smith and the Clowns, White made a number of singles under his own name from 1961 onwards. “I’m dedicating my life”/”Keep my woman home” was recorded for Atlas in 1965 in Memphis and is typical mid sixties Memphis soul. (“Keep” was written by Isaac Hayes and David Porter.) White died in 1996 age 65 of a stroke.
