John Lee Hooker was born on August 22, 1917 and died in his sleep on June 21, 2001 aged 88. Hooker’s guitar playing was influenced by his stepfather William Moore. His delivery was affected by a stammer for most of his life. He recorded this particular song with almost every record company he signed to. The single issued by UK Sue was leased from Kent Records, who acquired the Modern masters when Modern folded. Please let us know if we have linked to the wrong versions. Issued on UK Sue single WI 361.
