Lee Dorsey was born on December 24, 1924 and died on December 2, 1986. Messed around was issued on Sue WI 399. The B side was credited as “When I meet my baby”, but “You’re breaking me up” may have been used instead.

Did not chart.

  1. This one is far rarer than you might expect. Why? Well, the B side, labelled as ‘When I Meet My Baby’, actually plays a song by Lee called ‘You’re Breaking Me Up’. I assume that when Island noticed this mispress, and realised that they didn’t own the B side, they hastily withdrew it.

    • Hello Mike, thanks for the information.
I was lucky, then, I ordered a copy from my local record shop, Ainsleys of Melton Mowbray and Leicester, when it was released, and received it, and still have it!

      Best wishes, Paul
