Don and Dewey, Soul Motion/Stretching Out


Don and Dewey were Don Bowman (Sugarcane Harris) and Dewey Terry. Don Bowman was born on June 18, 1938 and died on November 27, 1999; Johnny Otis gave him the Sugarcane nickname. Dewey Terry was born on July 17, 1937 and died on May 11, 2003. Soul Motion was produced by the late Sonny Bono and was released on Sue WI 4032 in 1967. As well as recording, they were well known song writers, having written the pop hit “I’m leaving it up to you” which was recorded by Dale and Grace.
