Huey P. Meaux

Record producer and song writer Huey Purvis Meaux was born on March 10, 1929 and died on April 23, 2011. He is the arranger and producer of “You’ll Lose A Good Thing” by Barbara Lynn, which was released on UK Sue. He continued to be associated with Lynn when she moved to Atlantic Records. He is also associated with the Sir Douglas Quintet and other artistes. He was also a broadcasting personality using the description “The Crazy Cajun”.

In 1996 there was a police raid of his office, which eventually resulted in him spending 15 years in prison for a variety of charges. His archive of papers is held by the Briscoe Center for American History at The University of Texas, Austin, Texas.
