The Pleasures: Music city/If I had a little money

111 | 22 December 2023

The lead vocals are by an uncredited male session singer with background vocals provided by The Blossoms, who were Darlene Love, Fanita James, and Gracia Nitzsche. Music City is the name of the LA record store chain who financed the recording.

The Pleasures, “Music City”, released on Catch 100 in February 1963. The Catch label shows different composers: “Music City”, Stephen Howard; “If I had a little money”, Barry Stuart; both sides produced by Jack Nitzsche. It may be that Era obtained the rights to the recording but I have not been able to find an image of this single with Era labels.
